  • Harry Styles, Haider Ackermann, Hedi Slimane… so many Hs with one thing in common: they all love short sleeved silk shirts. Bowling shirts, Hawaiian shirts, Camp shirts, Cocktail shirts...what's in a name? We call ours Camp shirts, but depending on how you style them, they will take you AM to PM, from Americano to Americano.

Reminiscent of tundra in summer, this silk, printed on a neutral background, is predominantly dark through to pale mauve taupe, with dottings of Charleston black, pale and dark ochre, and Prussian blue.

Also available in: Skagen Pink, Fjord Blue

    HOW IT WAS MADE

Our Belgravia silk satin print offers a luminously high-shine surface, with a drape and fluidity that's perfect for wearing directly against the skin. It was sourced from a storied London fabric emporium and is part of a collection - based on Richard Strauss’ Alpine Symphony - that was designed in-house, at their Studio in Soho.

This particular print draws inspiration from traditional Scandinavian knitting patterns, the geometrics forming a plaid similar to that of the national Swedish costume.

Using Woven Silk Greige imported from China, the fabric is prepared, printed and finished in Italy, by the group's Oekotex Certified print partners based near Como.

Each shirt has been individually cut, pieced and matched at our small production unit in Puglia, Italy. It costs more, it uses more fabric, but we think it’s worth it.

Is silk cruel and environmentally harmful?

Silk is one of the oldest fabrics known to man, remnants have been found in China that date to the neolithic period - 8,500 years ago. The Sustainable Apparel Coalition's Higg Index contention that silk is not sustainable, is unsubstantiated, and seems highly unlikely. As for the animal cruelty proclaimed by ASOS and PeTA: All crop production kills caterpillars and silk does no more harm to caterpillars than the production of any other crop. Plenty more on this in our blog - but if you're feeling: TL;DR. no worries; you're good. Wear silk.
